NAME and DOMICILE (Meaning)

  MEGALITH NU SUGMA PHI SOCIETY - National Collegiate Service Fraternity & Sorority (Est. 1963)

a. Megalith  Taken from the latin words MEGA AND LITHUS, which means great and stone respectively. Megalith in short means a yuds or great stone. It is adopted to be included in the society’s title to signify the greatness of the organization. This means that the society should always stand great as a stone that have been existing for centuries.

b. Nu                The thirteenth letter of the Greek alphabet, which means VICTORY. This letter also means that the society, at all cost, will always stand a victor or successful in her daily routine of activities – that failure is very far from its vocabulary.

c. Sigma        The eighteenth letter of the Greek alphabet which means SUMMATION. In our organization, it stands for an organized society which carry always its objectives successfully.

d. Phi            The twenty-first letter of the Greek alphabet which means LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP. Our organization always believe on the principles of love and friendship. Through these, the group could always move towards success and without these, the organization could never carry on its objectives. The members should always understand the importance of sharing from among the members of the organization. Loving each other as real brothers and sisters will create a true camaraderie and harmony within the society.

e. Society     Is a group organized with one common interest and understanding.

Meaning as a whole:

 “Summation of love and friendship that leads to victory as massive as a great stone.”

SOCIETY’S SYMBOLS and its meaning

	Flower - ROSE
	Color    - RED, YELLOW,  BLUE

  RED  -  stands for bravery, courage, patriotism, love and friendship.

  YELLOW - stands for light and loyalty

  BLUE - stands for peace and broad interest

	Motto  : “LOVE CONQUERS ALL” – “OMNIA VINCIT AMOR”
	Slogan   : “Megans, the beautiful, the chief good”.
